INTRODUCTION

We know that the FIFA world cup is a really well-known and important event, that create a big impact all over the world. When this kind of event, such as the olimpic games, are held, the city where they are going to be held had spend a lot of money, time and also need support. 
We think that the impact in the country will we quite big, because of all the tourism that is going to be. All of this tourism will cause a big raise at the economic in the country, and we think that, if they manage this economic good, the will be able to get out some people from poverty.
Our objective in this proyect is to found about how the city makes the organization, how the economics are managed and also how the tourism is arranged with, of course, we know that the tourism in this type of event increase highly and also produce that the economics of the country raise.
As regards to the project design, we divide the aspects into three: economics, tourism, and the improvements that are need. Francisco will be in charge of the economics, Agustin of the tourism and Micaela of the improvements.

TOURISM


Brazil is preparing for one of the biggest events in the world that is the football world cup.The 2014 World cup is the first global football championship held in South America in the last 40 years.
This year Brazil is expecting twice the number of visitors that this country has in normal years because the World cup. Although there are two main reasons why Brazil is not so popular, one is that is very far away Europe and flights costs make it an expensive place to visit and the second reason is the countries crime rate that has been scaring off many tourist.
Brazil economy is getting better; they are improving infrastructure and projects for the future. Airports, roads are being built, the public transport, new hotels, and more and more people are being employed.
Brazil during the World Cup is expecting over half a million of visitors. Tourist organizations hope that this will get a lasting impression of the country so that they might come back sometime.
12 cities are preparing to host the matches of the World cup and also wants to show the world that it cannot only play football and dance samba that also the can organize high scale events.

IMPROVEMENTS

Brazil has made lots of improvements for this FIFA world cup, because of the importance that the event has internationally. To start with, FIFA is considering to use a “smart” chip inside the ball in order to certify the effectiveness of every goal.

What remains to the communications, Brazil is developing new 4G networks in all the host cities of the event. This was thought because of the importance that smartphones have now a days, the idea is to inform and communicate via smartphone. Anyway, television and security will be supported by this network too.

Radio communication frequency cannot be forgotten. Brazil is also using this way of communication for the interior of the sands and for the use of personal of the stadium, such as guards, actors, cameramen, etc. RFS (Radio Frequency Systems) in the company that specializes in communications for sporting events, and which Brazil integrated to the World Cup.

For safety, the country created the Special Secretariat for Large Events Security, which is responsible for the safety of Brazilians and tourists during the entire event. The technological innovation is the integration of police and security agencies that have exclusive communication networks between them inside the stadiums and in the city, in order to avoid any trouble.


The databases of the country also asked some countries like Argentina, Germany, England, Poland, USA for data on terrorists and troublemakers.

   Brazil, as the country that is going to held the world cup in 2014, have to make a lot of new infrastructure such as highways, airport and marinas, and although, brazil is one of the fastest growing economy in the world, this is going to cost a lot of money.

   Studies say that, Brazil is going to spend around USD 18 billions, but this amount of money will also prepared what is going to happened in 2016, the Olympic games. This, of course, is going to have benefits. Brazil expects to earn around USD 120 billions between the World Cup and the Olympics games. This preparation will also create lots of new jobs.

   This international events, which is going to bring tourism from all over the world, will benefits a lot of industries. We try to developed which industries will benefit the most and we found that, for example, Rio de Janeiro is a touristic city that every year expects 1.4m visitors, with this events, the tourism is expect to grown up to 3.3m visitors, so the industry of hotels and retail will be one of the most benefit.

  Another industries that will be benefits are the telecomunnication one and everything that involves transportation, tourism will have a big demand on them
  Indutries such as electricity and contruction, are also going to be benefits, but mostly before the event happen.

Now that 2012 London Olympics are over, the focus is on Brazil - one of the fastest growing economies in the world.  Like many emerging nations, Brazil has been handicapped by a lack of essential infrastructure - roads, railways, airports and marinas. 
Expectations of costs and benefits
How much will it cost?  A study by University of Sao Paulo estimated the infrastructure outlays in Brazil ahead of the 2014 World Cup to be roughly USD 18bn, with USD 14bn coming from Brazilian taxpayers’ pockets. The expected outlays devoted to hosting the Olympics are an additional USD 15bn, resulting in a total outlay of USD 33bn for both sport events. This is large compared to other recent Olympics spending, as chart 2 shows.
But there will, of course, be benefits.  Brazil’s Ministry of Sports – not exactly an independent source – claims120,000 jobs will be created pr. year by the preparations for the two big sports events. Which is not bad! 
Extracting a few more figures: according to a survey conducted by University of Sao Paulo, the overall gross economic impact of 2016 Olympics is expected to be USD 51.1bn.  Furthermore, according to a study by Ernst & Young, the overall impact of the 2014 World Cup impact is expected to be USD 70bn from both direct and indirect investments.  That is a total of more than USD 120bn in gross economic impact from hosting the two events.
That seems EXTREMELY optimistic I must say!  I would therefore be careful taking the total cost of USD 32bn and total benefit of USD 120bn as the holy truth. In the past we have seen the benefit being significantly overly estimated, while the cost similarly been way beyond budgets. 
Infrastructure and growth
Brazil’s president Dilma Roussef recently announced a commitment to spend USD 66bn on longer term infrastructure projects.  The plan has a 15-year time frame, so it’s not all about getting ready for the two big sporting events. Nevertheless, such a commitment to infrastructure improvements sends a strong signal that Brazil is ready to splash some cash catering for its future economic growth.
Which industries will benefit the most?
Leading up to, during and in between the two events, tourism is expected to increase drastically, mainly within Rio de Janeiro. Rio is already established as a popular tourist destination, with more than 1.4m visitors each year. Adding the two events, tourism is expected to more than double to 3.3bn visitors every year. These are massive volumes, and will surely benefit the local hotel and retail industry.
Other industries that will surely benefit are the construction and electricity industries. These industries will mostly benefit in the periods leading up to the events, whereas the tourist-related industries will see most gains during the actual events.

Brazil is preparing for major tourist invasion as two of the world’s biggest sporting events are scheduled to be held in the country in the coming years.
